Death Notice for Robert “Punk” Mayes
We regret to inform you that Mr. Robert Anthony “Punk” Mayes, age 61, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at his residence in Lewisburg, Tennessee. He attended Greater First Baptist Church in Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Mayes Sr. and a brother Willie Mayes Jr.
He was the son of the late Willie Mayes Sr. and Katherine Hardin Mayes. He was a graduate of Marshall County High School. He worked at ICP for 32 years,after its closing he became employed at Goodman’s and stayed until his passing. He will be missing with loving affection.
Robert ‘Punk’ Mayes is survived by his loving daughter Demicis Braden of Dallas, Texas; his mother Katherine Mayes, of Lewisburg, his stepmother Annie R. Mayes of Chapel Hill, nine sisters, Catherine Russell, Wanda Mayes, Martha Mayes, and Carolyn McCord all of Lewisburg; Emma Moore and Katie Miller of Columbia, Brenda Castlemen of Murfreesboro, Betty Haislip of Chapel Hill, Deloris Peacock of Bell Buckle, and twelve brothers: James Mayes, Barry Mayes, John Mayes, Donald Kenneth Mayes, Marvin Mayes, and Roderick Tears all of Lewisburg, Willie McCord of Dayton, Ohio, Jerry McCord of Tullahoma, James and Donald McCord of Chapel Hill, Thomas and Sammy McCord of Shelbyville; four aunts: Gracie Mayes of Franklin, TN, Mattie Anderson of Shelbyville, Emma Lou Hughes of Louisville, KY, and Nettie Lee Harris of Lewisburg; three uncles: Robert Hardin of Lewisburg, Billie and William Wray of Shelbyville; one great-aunt Gertie Mai Jarrett and two brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
