Death Notice for Deacon Frederick L. McCord

We regret to inform you that Federick L. McCord, age 63, of Chapel Hill, passed on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was the son of the late Maudine Hatcher McCord and Thomas H. McCord. He was a Deacon at Locust Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to his Mother, he was preceded in death by five Aunts, and five Uncles.

Fred McCord, graduated from Forrest High School as well as Tennessee State University and completed 16 hours on his Masters, until he suffered health issues. He was very prayerful and loved to attend church.

He leaves cherished memories to his wife Sarita Lynn Hurt-McCord, his father Thomas H. McCord, two daughters: Bridgett V. Marler and Brietta Lea Hurt, six grandchildren: Gary Marler II, Dallas Marler, Ashley Marler, Tony L. McCord, Dominique L. Hayes, and DaMarcus Hurt-Leisimon, one brother, Thomas E. McCord, two sisters: Michele Brown of Nashville and Sebrina McCord of Murfreesboro, his Mother-in-Law, Ida M. O’Neal, two sisters-in-law Pamela Hurt and Diane Hurt, five nephews and five neices, and dear friends whom he considered to be his extended family: Gerald Crowell, Stephanie Robinson, Dolphus Jones, Don Johnson, John Dodson, Greg Matthews, Harvey Matthews, and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Fred will be missed by all that knew and loved him. God will ease the pain knowing that he is with the Father in Heaven and finally pain free.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Family Life Center, 426 Heil Avenue. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Locust Ridge P.B. Church, 4991 Murfreesboro Road, in Arrington, TN; Pastor Brandon Mason, Eulogist.
