Obituary for Calvin Derrell Eskridge
We regret to inform you that Calvin Derrell Eskridge, age 51, of Lewisburg, passed on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was the son of the late Floyd A. Eskridge Jr. and Myr-Dell Eskridge. At a young age, he lived in Joliet, Illinois He was baptized and became a member of Gloryland M.B. Church while attending college in Houston, Texas and often visited Greater First Baptist Church in Lewisburg. Derrell was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and also his father.

Derrell graduated from Joliet West High School in Joliet, IL. He received his B.A. Degree at Texas Southern University in the Sociology with a minor in Public Affairs. Derrell was a 33rd Degree Mason, affiliated with the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.

He worked as a juvenile case manager at Magnolia Academy, a correctional officer at Marshall County Jail, a volunteer firefighter with Farmington Fire Department and served as a fireman in the City of Lewisburg until his health failed.

Derrell will be missed and remembered with loving affection.

Calvin Derrell Eskridge is survived by his mother, Myr-Dell Eskridge of Lewisburg , two sisters; Tamara Eskridge of Lewisburg, TN; Tonya Eskridge of Monee, Illinois, three aunts, Patricia Conner of Columbia, TN, Florine Anderson of Savannah, TN, Arnetta Cornelius of Plainfield, IL and many other cousins, relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, November 25, 10:00 am at Greater First Baptist Church in Lewisburg, the funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor William H. Johnson, Eulogist. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Belfast.

    I was shocked to here of Derrell’s passing. I just happened to find a picture of us today from when he spent a summer in Cleveland. I looked him up on Facebook and saw the bad news. I’m so sorry that he passes. My prayers are with his family. He was truly a nice guy.
